It's official, I have a blog and I know how to use it.

I have finally decided to take the plunge and add a blog to my site. I always wanted an easy way to share information with visitors and I'm super excited to start this journey. Keep coming back to my site and check for updates right here on the blog.
This new venture of mine is coaching.
Why coaching you may ask? Aren't we over saturated with self-help and dogooders around every corner? What good is coaching to me, the average Joe or Jade?
Well keep reading and listening. I have come to this path over a long period of time. As a GP and doctor , self-help and helping others is a core part of my role. Why would I then go off-piste into coaching?
I entered coaching through the route of training doctors actually. I have been training new GP's for nigh on 10 years, and in this capacity have been mentoring and coaching young doctors who are entering into the world of general practice for that length of time. As a trainer I am mainly a facilitator and ask the right questions so that the doctor can find the answer themselves and whilst doing this learn a lot about themselves too. The method of didactic training that medicine was well known for has been phasing out of general practice over the last 20 years and general practice is now well known for offering fantastic mentors/coaches and trainers and for being the most one-to-one speciality for training there is.
What I liked about using coaching methods is that rather than telling the person what they need to do or how, that person gets time to reflect, think out aloud and find the best way to tackle an issue or solve the problem themselves. long term this is the way they are best served as they can think laterally and in the future when another issues crop up they are more likely to be able to resolve it themselves.
I hope to continue to help many more people find their own way and I hope you can join me on this journey.
As they say" everything you need is already within you."
